I formerly worked at Artistic Treeworks in Richland, WA as a Sawyer and a Project Management Professional. I saw a wide variety of log and grain shapes. My day was split between climbing log piles, bucking logs, splitting rounds for firewood, reclaiming property from flooding and for log yard use, grinding stumps and a variety of other activities and projects. One of the side effects of working here is that I get paid to use really cool power tools and equipment e.g. the largest Stihl chainsaws in production and several types of heavy equipment while performing my job i.e. dump trucks, grapple and cable based log trucks, and a Mustang Brand skid steer with attachments. In addition I get to improve my skills as a welder, crane operator, and bar and chain whisperer (ha ha).
